How confident are YOU in your own abilities?

If you are confident, then that means the past has gone well for you?
If you are not it means the past has not gone well?
Can you ever be confident in your own abilities if the past has not gone well for you?
You =people in general,not me!

Answer:
I disagree with the statement, "If you are confident, then the past has gone well for you." There are many great and confident people that have had terrible pasts like Gandi, Nelson Mandela (he was in an African prison for years), Oprah (she was poor and molested as a child), the list can go on and on.

While a troubled past does give people more opportunity to make poor decisions it also gives them the opportunity to learn, grow, and become a better person.

I have not had a perfect past, but I am strong and confident and now know that I can do anything because of the past events that I have gone through.
No. I am not. But I know that it's just but normal, right?
I'm a mad jedi master.
I'm confident because my past has not gone well, pretty crappy actually.
But I'm still alive, so therefore I am indestructable.
Sure as you have learned all the things not to do,,,Sometimes failures are a phd in becoming a success
I am confident in myself.
My past has not gone well, but I am still here, thriving.
That's what makes me confident.
I am confident is my abilities in some areas, while not-so-confident in others...and yeah, it probably is an effect of past outcomes...
Confidence is certainly built on past experience. It comes from learning to do something, then doing it well and not only having other people recognize your ability, but recognizing your ability yourself. I have some things I know I do well and recent recognition in those areas have bolstered my own self-confidence. One is writing. I've written and published several novels. My friends all liked them so I knew that I could at least tell a story. Recently two of them were reviewed by professionals in that genre and the reviews were raves. So their recognition took what I already knew to be true and solidified it for me even further.
no I dont think that is true, ( confident means things went well ) my adult life has been pretty damn shiitty, but I am confident in my ability to be happy and take care of all my things, only thing I did was trust the other person and what they were telling me,,

but making a mistake of believing someone has nothing to do with my confidence with my own ability
well i'm half and half on that.. obviously when you do something right or you know how to do something for sure, you are confident in yourself and vice versa.
i am confident in myself. i grew up very sick and most of the time in the hospital. i am older now and healthier. if you do not have confidence in yourself how will others have it in you. i know i could of one things differently but i have grown as a person and now i am confident in my abilities. if you would of ask this 20 years ago i would of said no but now that i am almost 40 i can say proudly yes.
If the past has gone well...confident? If it hasnt ..not confident?
that leaves no room for those of us in the middle right?
How many of us have taken a bad situation to make good?
Try being made a laughing stock, namecalling etc..and celbraties who say YOU CANT DO or You`re not rich enough, etc..etd..
I learned this when i was 14 yrs old..Never will I forget it the arrogancy..
But ..... I did write the network yrs ago on how anyone CAN DO! and ANYONE CAN BE.It doesnt take arrogant celebs..
it takes the ability to make ppl listen...finding the good in all. And those who CAN rather then to hide from their mistakes to teach others. If anyone ever heard a comment made by pierce on Americas got talant he stated "Just a humble person, theres allot of arrogancy" And YES I finally after 25plus years heard a honest statement! Thank you NBC and Pierce...for getting through ppls heads.and if anyone has an address where to write him, let me know.THANKS
very confident
i think when things didnt go well just pesevering changed it and you get there in the ned
having that attitude and riding the big waves can get you through and then you become quite apable which adds to te confidence
