What is a belief you have now that you was not a belief of yours in the past?

Answer:
That you have a choice in how you choose to feel about anything that happens in your life, you're not a victim of your emotions.

I grew up a fundamentalist Christian. I'm still a Christian, but now I consider myself a "recovering fundamentalist." So really for me, I've changed not just one belief but an entire belief system.
I used to believe in Hell. But then I got to thinking "How could God let his own creation get tortured? How could God create something that even he can not save?"
To do what is right, and help others if you can. I've taken so much from society in my younger days, I now try to do the right thing. I make donations, I do volunteer work for non profit organizations, etc...
I never believed that the sun would shine forever but now I know it will shine forever. I never took much notice with scientists.

That people see things the way the choose to see them that is we make our own realities they are usually based on our past experiences and family of orgin. The belief I know have is that people are not convinced by facts they will choose to believe their own realities rather than accept evidence to the contrary.
That true love, a soulmate, would be in my life...and I would be happy...(husband number three was IT!)
That I would ever go through a divorce ("starter" husband)
That I would ever be a widow (2nd husband)
That the government doesn't always have our best interest at heart
That I was correct when I decided I hated beets
And that I really don't look good in yellow...
That men and women were different -- I mean, besides the sex organs being differently configured.

In my family we don't fit the general traits as well as a lot of people do, so I thought people were nuts when there would talk about sex-based differences. (Much of what's said IS nonsense, but there are little bits of truth in some of it, too.)

I've come to believe that, on the whole, by and large, there are differences in the brains of most men compared to most women.

Or maybe not even "most" but that there are some general trends.

This is not to say one is better, or that there's anything wrong with people who don't fit the trends.

I, for example, fit the trend by not being as intelligent in geometry as I am in other areas.

The classic task being the ability to mentally rotate things -- I'm just no good at that.

Even though, in general, I'm not a very girly type of girl.

So, although I used to buy in to the notion that the apparent differences were due entirely to socialization, I've come around to the belief that there are actual differences in the brains of all women, taken as a group, and all men, takes as a group.
