I have done and said many many stupid things in my life. Some of them still haunt me years later. But mostly, it depends on just how stupid, and also what harm they caused, especially harm to others.
It's good to learn to forgive yourself. Remorse serves no purpose. Once you recognize something was stupid, and decide you won't do that again, it's best to forget it and move on. It's not always easy, though.
every day. I try to not let it haunt me more than 2 days or I'd collapse and become agoraphobic
Yes, sometimes when I get angry at people and accidently yell at them I think about it for sometimes over a week. It keeps replaying in my mind over and over again and it's all I can think about.

In some cases I was reacting stupidly to another stupid act. Think of a pie throwing contest. Afterwards everyone takes a shower and goes home. Forget about it.
In a few cases I was being cruel and selfish - lashing out at the person who loved me. Those are very difficult to forget.
Forgiveness is as important as trying to learn not to repeat the hurtful (stupid) act. Again everyone makes those mistakes - the telling part of your growth as a human worthy of love and respect is how you modify those behaviors, not entrench them into almost character traits.
People who act stupid all the time wind up alone.
Of course I have! I think everyone sometime in their life will have that happen to them. I have had my foot pu in my mouth a few times. I just take in, and move on. There is no reason to get all worked up about it.
