Why do some memories fade as we get older?
Answer:
Just recently it was proven that the mind is much more like a muscle then we could have ever imagined. If we constantly exercise the brain, (puzzles, math questions) the dexterity of the brain will stay active, and memories will not be lost. Just recently Nintendo has published a game called big brain academy whose sole purpose it to exercise the mind.
some memories fade away as we get older because we dont revise them like out time tables so they fade away but if you remind yourself of them then you will remeber them as you get older
This is called Trace Decay. Memories are stored in your unconcious memory, there is a link from the memory in your concious memory, so you can remember them whenever you want. as you get older the link from your memory to you concious mind decays so you can not reach it. this can be fixed by going over the memory.
It's a defense mechanism. We can only process so much information at one time, so the longer you live, the more memories you have and the more that have to go into cold storage. The information is still there and you can access it if it is important, but be aware that your older memories may also be overlaid with misperceptions that color it one way or another. Kind of like a corrupted file.
bcuz of our health or maybe sometimes we just want to forget them
