Anyone's life ruined by their depression?
Answer:
Depression can turn your life upside down if you allow it to do so. I became proactive, went to a counselor, traced what the source was, and went on an antidepressant temporarily. I prayed about it. Today, I am happier, not on meds any longer. I feel great. I still see my counselor once a month and I journal my feelings. Lots of information on the internet as well on ways to deal with and how to get treatment.
Finding out the source of your depression however, is the best place to start to turn it around.
No , I would not let it.
I was married to a man that was married to crack and his friends. I didn't know it was crack that kept him out for days on end. I thought he was seeing someone else. After about a year, he fessed up to the drug use. I thought I could HELP him and tried to get him to go to a drug councilor, freaked out when he didn't pay his bills, and eventually lost my house because of his drug use. I was very depressed for a long time before leaving him because he wouldn't change, but I figured out that I didn't need someone like that in my life anymore, and I divorced him. I am no longer depressed, afraid of losing my home, of him stealing my money. I had to stand up on my own two feet and do what was right.
Ugh. I wasn't depressed until my Dr. PUT me on anti-depression pills. They were supposed to help with pain and they told me not to worry Cymbalta is really for depression. I suppose if you aren't depressed then this stuff will make you depressed, or it could just be the cost of my medicine combined with the fact I am STILL in pain!
So I conquered my depression and financial issues by FIRING my doctor. I'm still in pain but my mood is much improved.
