Why is one thing weird to one person and another normal?
Answer:
both. what people have experienced and the way we percieve things is so infinitely different. That's why everyone is different.
some people think that the things my family talk about over the table are weird, but to me it's normal because that's what we always talk about. it really depends on the way a person was raised and the people they've known.
this is a WEIRD question
Some people are raised different. I look at it this way; we all are entitled to our opinions and we could be right or wrong. It is normal to disagree at times, but it also is normal to like and dislike.
because no two people are the same, everyone is different in their own ways!
i think sometimes people are just a little close-minded to things they havent really thought about, known or experienced.
humans are creatures that are comfortable with routine and familiar things... so something new just doesnt really click right away if know what i mean. but sometimes new things can intrigue people as well.
i think is about the way your environment formed the way you think. if you are accustomed to something and are told repetitively that it is normal, you will believe that it is normal. and that become the basis of your belief. from then on, you start comparing everything to this benchmark of belief. when something is not according to your belief, then you called it weird. so weird is basically something conflicting with our belief. it might not be wrong, but just plain..different.
i guess thats where the saying different strokes for different folks comes in.
the good old nature verus nurture argument.
I think it's simply how the person is raised, what they are exposed, not exposed to, or forbidden from (etc) that forms how they feel about things.
"nature" could argue that people are close minded, but they'd have to back that up with some twin studies, as far as I have seen, this sort of thing, people thinking stuff is 'weird', and so on, can usually be traced back to their childhood (and I don't mean to sound like a shrink there)
Because human beings are individual and perceive the world differently. This is why everyone has different opinions on life.
