How do I hypnotise people?

maybe start with NLP - neurolinguistic programming. basically using words to get people to enter different states. sounds compliocated, but once you get into it is isn't. the guy behind it all is richard bandler - have a look at his website below.
there will be loacl NLP practitioners where you are - just contact one of them and away you go.

Bandler is definitely a good starting point, and hypnosis is taught as one of the key building blocks of NLP - so having a look at NLP and getting involved is a good starting point.
I studied NLP for about a year before finally booking on a course with Paul McKenna - 7 days later I knew an awful lot about how to hypnotise people, having had 7 days practice in a safe environment. Basically, whilst you can learn a lot from books, hypnotism is something that has to be practised - reading about how to do it is no match for actually doing it - and it's best taught by someone who knows what they're doing, who lets the class have a go on each other.
If you want to know how hypnotism works, check out Bandler's book 'Hypnotic language patterns of Milton Erikson' - you should be able to get it off eBay for £10 or less. Also good is tranceformations, but this is out of print and may cost up to £70.
In short - you pace someone first, mirroring body language and adjusting your breathing so you match theirs; then you talk using certain language patterns (in the books above), making sure to slightly raise your voice on the in breath, and flatten on the out breath; don't pause, just talk rhythmically and keep going. Then, when the subject begins to drift off, the fun really starts.
They cut all of this out of Derren's shows of course, because it can take a long time and it gives away too many secrets.
You have to develop the power with practice. Gullible friends are a help.

It's not the safest thing to override people's freewill and control their mind. You could unwittingly cause an unwanted effect or put your own stuff onto their mind. Neuro-linguistic programming seems safe enough but hypnosis should only be carried out by a pure person in pure circumstances. Even in psycho-analysis the patients sometimes took on the neuroses of the analysts. You have to have pure intentions and know what you're doing.
