How can you possibly stop sleepwalking and nightmares?
Answer:
I think sleepwalking and nightmares indicate that you are having some sort of stress or turmoil in your life. When you are asleep you are in a relaxed state and your emotions can emerge without you blocking them. Are you experiencing a lot of stress or is there a problem that you are struggling with? This may be the source.
Try to relieve unresolved conflicts by whatever works for you. Meditation, talking to someone, exercising, or just looking into yourself to find what is bothering you. There are also sleep clinics. First I would talk to my doctor, especially if you are taking any medication that might be causing this side effect.
well all i have to say to that is ..
DONT SLEEP !!!
light sleepers are usually prone to sleepwalking. you can't really control sleepwalking, but by figuring out what triggers it you might be able to help prevent it. for example, some people are more prone to sleepwalking if they neglected to finish something during the day.
You might need a temporary prescription for a sleep-aid--while undergoing therapy to see why this is happening. Do speak to a doctor.
I know these two things can be scary but they can sometimes just be part of growing up or life in general. Here is my best shot...
two part answer - first sleepwalking can be a chemical imbalance where you body does not produce the right hormones to prevent movement during sleep and it could disappear as you get older. If you find yourself doing dangerous stuff like wandering out of the house you can have a "sleep study" done which they monitor your brainwaves while you sleep to see if it is a that kind of problem. Its painless by the way, had one done once for not being able to sleep.
Part two - dreams are your brain's way of working out problems you may be having and often may seem like nightmere's because of dark scary content. A good way sometimes to get them to stop is to have a notebook around to write them out when you wake up. Once you have written them out focus on feelings and not just images because the feelings are usually what your brain is working on and the pictures are just a way to express them. Also, I find when I write out the dream it seems to take the juice or power out of how scary they are to me. Hope this helps.
