Why is commitment phobia an issue(excuse) condition in US and not other countries?
Answer:
it's an issue everywhere. I am a commitmentophobic female. Any sign of commitment freaks me out like crazy. It almost feels like i am going to die. It's amazing. I read somewhere that people are afraid of commitment if they doubt their ability to remain who they are when in commited situations for eg, if a woman thinks that when she gets married, she'll have t give up, say painting or flirting with other guys etc. So i am trying to get over this phobia by making small commitments eg being a regular volunteer or a mentor, taking up side jobs etc and setting boundaries and limitations that allow me to still retain my individuality. I do know how i got to be like this. I grew up (outside the US) in a very conservative environment where everyone was supposed to be a certain way and well, i was different. so for years i had to pretend to be like others to avoid being made fun of, and spanked. Now at age 27, i am lucky enough to be back to who i am and my greatest fear is loosing this person that is me
BigD: what has cutting off females genitalia got to do with commitment? Are you suggesting that females in the US should be grateful for anything we get from men since they are not bad enough to cut off our genitalia? I fail to see the point of that statement
This is a silly question
How did you come to the conclusion that only men in the US don't commit to a relationship?
In other countries, they cut off little girls genetalia. Try living there
uh, is it possible that this is a problem with you, instead of with all american men?
