Why do people think to spell correctly is not really necessary?

it could be a matter of life and death if a statement was misunderstood or confusing due to incorrect or bad spelling 1 letter in a word may not change the text, but jumbled spelling could be very serious. It happens to the best of us at thymes anneh waa so there.

Answer:
Nah, spelling is HELPFUL, not crucial. Regardless of what third grade teachers tell us, spelling is not a matter of life and death. Some people focus too anxiously on "correct" spelling and never develop anything else within them, like the complexity of thought to write something interesting. Anal preoccupation with spelling is one of the reasons today why our high school graduates score so horribly on writing and language skills. It's like spending 18 years learning only how to type "most correctly" in lieu of learning how to actually compose anything of real meaning or importance. The aim of communication and writing should be quality of thought, not pretty letters in their correct little cubbies.
if you see someone has a problem with spelling you pray for them who are you to judge people you better be lucky good made you how you are
I think those who believe it isn't necessary are those who have trouble spelling so they are not capable of spelling, therefore they believe it's not important.

I'm 17 and I do try my best to have correct spelling & grammar, but teachers at my school can't even spell and don't know where to put apostrophes. This annoys me and I do correct them, subtly.

I also think some people are lazy about it. But I guess as long as they can get their message across and we are able to understand it, it's ok.
I think we can all agree that FunQA.com is not a life or death situation so we need to keep things in perspective.

I am one of those people who flinch whenever I see poor spelling, but I too am guilty of it because I can't type as fast as I think!

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say most people think that the importance is in getting the point across.
try the u-cure system to think more clearly www.u-cure.com

but there are also times in life and death instances where people do spell correctly , morris code being one example where they dont make many errors during communication.

also spelling online is useless and takes more time so we as a people just enjoy our versions of shorthand!

i do agree with pat on how america does horribly in verbal though lol i mean for pete sakes i set the curve on every standardized test i took lol and i have taken them under the influence of marijuana lol 98% tile baby

and is a vivid example of why spelling isn't everything. It's helpful, yes, but not absolutely necessary. In fact, years ago, there were no standardized spellings for the English language. It's only been in the past couple of centuries or so that we've defined how different words should be spelled.
