I was dead frightened once when i was about 13..how this could have effected my brain?
Answer:
depends on wat kind ov emotional probs ure facing now.nd yes it could hv had an affect on it
Hi Niny, its very difficult to answer this without knowing what your emotional problems are now, just generally, most things in life do affect the brain its how we learn and grow. Probably the best thing you can do is put the experience behind you, wrap it all up and metally throw it away, and look to the future. Good luck.
If you are 20-25,or sth this could probably have an affect. If you are older,it's less possible, but not impossible...Anyway, i wish you get better!
Hello,
(ans) To give you a definite answer to your question is very difficult because without you going into very specific details of your experience its hard to know or say how you were affected.
However, in general terms if someone has an extreme experience which causes a high level of fear (for example surviving a plane crash!), that might well be termed "trauma", its a well documented fact that people who have experienced trauma or a traumatic experience can (and I stress "can" or "may") suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. I cannot say if this does apply to you or not?
**Again there are known & clear symptoms of P.T.S.D. and sometimes these can be prolonged if not treated.
**P.T.S.D can be treated with talking therapies & other pysological methods.
**Certainly, a traumatic experience can leave a lasting impression on a persons psyche, this would be reflected in things like dreaming & sleep patterns, or flash backs (instant random recall of past events, re-living the event/s).
**With P.T.S.D its common for suffers to drink heavily, do drugs heavily, comfort eat or become rather depressed. These are used to repress or suppress the pain of the experience, the problem is these only delay the healing process ultimately.
Hope this makes sense?
Best Regards Ivan
