My weird dreams?

1) I was all alone in the house and a figure was banging on the door to the house who looked exactly like my dad, except his eyes looked scaryish ( like a smile that looks evil ).
I had a few other dreams that had "scary" figures that looked exaclty like close friends or family. ( all alive )

2) I go into the basement for some reason, even though i dont want to, and 2 figures ( ghostly alienlike) are there. I try to escape the scene but i cant. I try to scream and move but I'm frozen and i can hardly let out a sound

And also, why is it that right before you fall asleep, you get this feeling that you're abruptly falling from something and you like jerk up, and your muscles tighten up for that time and release.

Do these things sound familiar to anyone? Do they maybe mean something?

Answer:
To be quite honest, I think you may be experiencing hypnopompic paralysis, also known as "sleep paralysis"; To put it simply, this happens when your brain is awake while your body is still asleep; sort of the opposite of somnambulism ("sleep-walking").

I have suffered from this condition for years, and some of your symptoms sound very similar to mine: Trying to scream but can't,...hallucinations ("scary" figures"),... the sense of falling and/or out-of-body experiences.

Here's a link to a Wiki article on the subject:

p.s. Although this condition can scare the Hell out of you, know that it is nothing to really worry about. I hope this helped.
I think your dream probably reflects a time from your infancy or youth when you were afraid and realized the sheer size and power of your father compared to yourself as a child. You may even harbor a little bit of concern that the people you know have darker sides they don't usually show. However, this is true of most people. I don't think its significant, just maybe reveals the state of mind you were in before you fell asleep or some worry or other that had been bothering you.
I also have had dreams where I tried to escape and couldn't move or tried to scream and nothing would come out.
I also have jerked awake shortly into a dream, sometimes in the dream I am walking and have tripped on something.
Your experiences sound normal to me.
I have heard that 'the house" represents your mental state - so, your main floor is your conscious state, the basement your unconscious state (hidden thoughts). Could be something as simple as your mind trying to tell you that there is something you want to resolve with both your father and, with the second dream, something you might not want to face or deal with - the ghosts could represent something in your everyday life that you must overcome but slightly fear or are anxious about.
As far as the dreams..I might be wrong but from the sounds of it, I think it means that you have an insecurity about something. And as for the falling feeling (This might sound stupid but I am an avid beleiver in spiritual stuff) Your body trembles when your soul leaves and enters your body giving you the falling sensation). I believe it happens every night. I also have heard very similar on Montel Williams when Sylvia Browne was on.
1) I'd say you have trust issues with family and friends. Maybe not consciously, but you have trouble letting others get close to you.

2) You let problems get to you. You see challenges as obstacles that you can't get around. You have trouble making decisions when you need to.

Try focusing on your relationships, consult those around you with problems, and face adversity with confidence. You'll probably see these dreams diminish.

As for jerking awake suddenly, that's built up energy in the muscle synapses releasing. Not at all uncommon.
