Has anybody ever used Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

I was taught it when I went through a very bad patch in my life about ten years ago, and I am sure it saved my life.
didn't help much for me but i went in with doubts i just done see how talking could change the way i think but having said that i know it is meant to Be really good for most people give it ago
I tried it for 12 months, would have done more good if I stayed home and talked to a paper bag. I t can work for some people though, maybe just not for me.
ive been interested in it but havent tried it yet.
It will only work if you make it otherwise just be yourself change what you you need to it may take time but what the heck
My son used it to deal with his OCD - very effective!
if done properly it can be very dood however, for people who are automatically negative about everything it tends to help in the short term but they can slip back to their negative thinking patterns very easily if they do not keep up the homework. Oh and for people who always have to be right it is not much use as they simply argue against every positive suggetion that is made.
I've used it with psychiatric patients, but found that it was not successful with people with impaired cognitions, for example, in the case of someone with schizophrenia who was currently psychotic.
You need to be able to think logically & reasonably for this style therapy to work.
Ive started it myself i actually have a session today ive only done 1 session so i couldnt say how effective it is as its still early days but i must say what she has said so far has given me a boost. I suffer from an anxiety disorder and its really dibilating and depressing im hoping this will help me on the road to recovery.
Ive done some reading up on it and what it is basically is they try to help you replace your negative thinking with positive thinking they may also suggest some other techniques or therapies that may help you to relax and de-stress depending on your situation.
Haven't had it used on me, but I have been trained in it.
It is a brilliant method of therapy which has a very high success rate.
People who have been in counselling for years after completing a 6 weekly session with a CBT Therapist have a totally different outlook on life.
