Are we really asking questions to get their answers?
Answer:
well there are certainly some people who are asking questions because they just want to get attention. and there are people just throwin things out there because they want to see what people will say. howev er, i think that most people honestly want answers to their questions. i mean, most people use a service for what its for, and you will always get people who abuse it for... whatever.
I ask to get answers. This is a great place to get them.
search my history, you will see that I am.
depends on who you are. i mostly want to know what other people have to say, even if i dont agree.
When you look at most questions asked, you could find the answers on Wikipedia etc. However, I find it interesting to hear people's personal experiences or opinions of a subject, which you don't get with such sites.
I ask questions for other people's opinions on a situation I have - whether I chose to take their advice is my choice.
Mix of both. It depends on the kind of question. If you see someone, to use an example I just saw, asking for the answer to a crossword clue they probably genuinely want an answer. Anything opinion based is essentially just drawing out conversation of sorts.
Some people are using this as a fact finder for things that are difficult to "google." Others are just playing debate.
I am asking questions to get answers, to past the time .
NOT to check others iq.I have other lots of work also.
You bring up an interesting point
Also, people tend to use FunQA.com as a "venting" tool to take out anger from a problem. Or sometimes, it is use to just gather thoughts and create a social environment on a particular subject.
Yes, FunQA.com is not just used for getting answers, I feel like its turning into those massive internet Social sites like Myspace, livejournal or your typical chat room
I personally only ask questions for 2 reasons and that is for fun to gauge what weird answers i may receive and for knowledge. I answer questions because I enjoy helping others and slamming others that are just ignorant or clueless.
I am scared to death to ask or answer questions here.
Yahoo is so delete/suspension happy, it's probably a matter of time before this post gets deleted.
Both the possibilities are there.
because you doubt, i am not asking questions at all. only answering!
Different people different opinions.
I ask questions to get answers, some of these people on here astound me though of their great expertice with knowledge. =)
for me i do want to get the answers.
some body really asks good questions which they are in need& they dont know. but some knows the answer, but they will ask. but this will aslo make others to know about something. because i come to know various things which helped me a lot. so this actually makes a knowledge sharing base.
i am asking questions to gain knowledge n giving answers to distribute mine
Good Question...
First things first, why have you asked this question?
Let me give my opinion about your question by asking 1 question.
If i give you Rs. 100 & You give me Rs. 100, what is the amount each of us have.
Obviously it is Rs. 100 Each..
But when i ask or answer a question, and 10 people reply to that, instead of 1 question i have either 10 answers or 10 ways of not answering them.
Many people ask questions on this forum as they are lazy to find answers themselves or they dont have any one to ask them.
But trust me, when you ask or answer you become a little wiser than what you were before asking or answering.
Hope you may like the thoughts... ALL THE BEST...
AJ
