How can i get people to respect my intellect?
Answer:
You're going to think I'm just being rude, but it really would help if you weren't so big-headed about your IQ. Half of your question is just boasing, and nobody's going to respect you for that.
Well, Hitler, maybe you could stop thinking your so great. Arrogance is one thing that is a turn-off to anyone, no matter how smart you actually are. The reason your grades are so bad is probably because everyone would tell you that you were so smart when you young. You had things come easy to you, so you stopped trying, even when it was called for. You need to step up your act, respect the authority and not call them out on their mistakes, and I think you'll hit it off a lot better with people.
There's only one way to really get respect..to earn it. If that means getting good grades, then thats what you have to do. If your IQ is that high, good grades should be easy to come by. If you don't care, like you said you don't, your grades won't improve. If thats the case, don't expect anyone to respect your so-called intellect.
like most smart people you are probably laking in social skills which in high school are pretty important...try to loosen up. quit worrying about how much smarter you are than everybody and try to enjoy life and make some friends. Tutoring could also be a good thing, use your talents for good =)
Show others respect first - even if you "think" you are superior to them. That would be a start in the right direction.
Respect is something you earn and not a privilege to be given readily to you. I totally agree with you, grades are not the real measure of intellect. But you have to understand also --why are you getting bad grades despite your high I.Q.?
High I.Q. doesn't translate to high E.Q. . Maybe you're not getting the respect because you're not willing to give respect also to others ( to your teachers?, classmates?, parents?). Maybe the way you raise your arguments to your teachers are way too disrespectful that those around you overlook your high intellect but instead notice more your bad attitude?
If you want respect: abide by the GOLDEN RULE.
Lack of challenge is your drama. You have to find the challenge yourself. Chances are that you won't within the framework of the education system which tends toward homogenisation. The unfortunate thing is that you will squander a huge resource if you are not vigilant. It is not your parents or your teachers or your peers loss. Look to extend yourself independently and take charge. Spit in one hand, place peoples opinions in the other and see which one weighs the most.
Sounds to me like your too busy worrying about what everyone else is doing , rather than what your doing. You are human you know. By criticizing a teacher in their work your not gonna get too many brownie points there. If you do that to other people it is a recipe for disaster. If your so intelligent why don't you try positive attention rather than negative. The most intelligent people in the world know one thing is for certain. Nobody likes a show off. Confucius say ; "He who sings his own praise deserves none!". Be humble.
Your EQ is in inproportionate to your IQ..
