How different do you think the laws are for The Rich and The Poor?
Should the Rich not go to jail and do their time in their homes, wearing a electronic braclet? Or should they do their time in a prison like everyone else that commits a crime where they go to prison?

Freaking Paris! Yes they should go to jail and do their time just like any other average Joe would have too. Just because a person has money doesn't give them a right to not suffer the consequences of their actions.
Of course they should go to prison but the rich can bribe. It's not the laws that are different it is the ability of man to be corrupted. This is why our justice system fails. It is truly comical that "In God We Trust" is printed on money, the same money that corrupts society.
Kev M. Your friend should definitely be behind bars too and have a felony on his record. That's rediculous. And you are right about poor people getting a pass too but it's apples and oranges when you look at the big picture.
All citizens should be treated equally in the eyes of the law (and otherwise) but of course we all know that's not how it works :)
I think it goes person by person. People need to quit crying about the rich all the time. I know so many people in my city that have done worse than Paris and they have done no time, no fine, no house arrest, nothing. My friend alone has 8 dui's this year and still has a liscense and just keeps getting his wrist slapped. He is poor, so what is your excuse for him. People are just jealous of Paris because she is living the life they wish they had, be able to do anything they want, money no issue, and never have to work. Get off her case and worry about why that sexual predator that raped 2 infants is on house arrest and not in prison.

Look at the criminals that are rich that run are country and should be in jail for war crimes.Look at Oj Simpson,Micheal Jackson,Paris Hilton, there are countless others that should be locked up but have bought there way out the system.The system needs to profit to maintain.Thats why we have so many laws and citations because so we can pay the same system to protect us when usually it robs us!
Really, I think any crime the rich get to wear an anklet for and go home the poor should as well. Quite often, however, the poor do get to, it's just not major news then. Either way that has nothing to do with the law. That's about the jury or judge and sentencing.
The only way, I think, that laws work against the poor is in not realizing that sometimes people are doing what they need to in order to survive. Prostitution is the perfect example. People are allowed to have sex. People marry for money. People have extramarital affairs and no one is arrested. Prostitutes are arrested because it's wrong to exploit women like that but it's ok to give them a public record telling any employers that they were thus exploited?
What about drug use? Arresting someone for using drugs only makes it harder for them to get back on their feet. I'm not talking about selling or manufacturing illegal drugs, just using them. A criminal record makes it harder for anyone to get ahead. It just seems to me to be a really effective way to keep people in bad places.
let me ask you this, do you think it's fair, (forget who is rich and who is not for a moment) If 2 people, commit the same crime and one is given a year in jail and the other is given 6 months at home? If you say no then you will understand why everyone is upset with Paris, if you say yes.. I have no other kind words for you.
The laws are not normaly different for the rich and poor. The way the laws are enforced is very much so different. The way a person is dressed/talks says alot to a police officer/judge or jury. Honestly a rich person maybe should do time differently then a poor person. Because generaly a rich person has people working under them and thouse people suffer alot when that person goes to jail for some time. Of course this is with the assumption that the rich person learned the leason and was actualy sorry for the crime they commit. I dont think this is often the case so then I would say its not good to have dif sentences for rich/clean looking vs poor/unclean looking citizens. Hopefuly our judges / jurys are aware of this and sentence accordingly.
They should have they tails put in jail like anyone else. Just because your parents are wealthy or you happen to possess a special talent does not make you any less of a criminal than any other average joe that commits a crime.
They are as different as they are rich and they are poor.
Justice is not there, If fact those standing behind justice in our so called civilized society are really "crooked" in civilized clothing , while those victims of these free society accepted "crooks" in high society are put behind bars.
The are more honorable and noble people in prisons than there are outside.
It's an irony that only the most perceptable and discerning people can see, while the rest are just zoombies and lackies of these crooks in all the high places.

We all know the laws are applied differently in relation to social and economic status. WE ALL KNOW THAT! But who is to blame when we (I mean the larger American public) allow that to happen? The larger part of American society would rather spend their evenings in front of the Television (who is the true enemy in your camp) worshipping, wanting and wishing to be just like, the rich and priviledged minority of this country than to organize and demand equal treatment under the law which, I might add, is one of the ideals upon which this country was allegedly founded.
