Do You Think There Is Something Wrong With Being Spoiled?

And so do you think that people have power over you when they do spoil you?

Answer:
Spoiled is an attitude.

Its about the person not the situation. There are people who ca ngrwo up priveliged and still ahve a sense of graitutde nad appreciation. It about the way that a "spoiled" person manipulates people. and thier attitude about what they have. like they are entitled to it. THats wrong.

But getting things is not wrong, as long as you are greatful and you give back!!

Spoiled people tned to have power over the poeple who give them things.
It's not good to be spoiled. Yes, I think many times the person spoiling you will manipulate you with things, dangling more stuff in front of you so you do what they want to get what you want. Of course, the spoiled person manipulates too. It's a vicious cycle.
Yes and Yes. It's actually the worst thing to do to someone you love. You want your loved ones to be happy. Spoiled people are not happy people. When someone spoils you, you have to wonder what their motives are.
Yes i do, if you are spoiled i do not think you appreciate things as much, if your whole life you are given things, then maybe when it is time for you to be on your own, you wont have the right idea, mindset, goals, and ambition that you need to make it places.
No, there is nothing wrong with being spoiled, and if you're truly spoiled you won't feel obligated to whoever spoiled you. What is bad is the sense of entitlement that often comes with spoiling. It is possible that someone can appear spoiled (by having everything they want) but are grateful for it and don't expect it to continue in the future. Those people might feel obligated.
Yes. And yes. That's why they call it "spoiled," they might as well call it "ruined."
yes being spoiled is bad. the term spoiled screams "BAD! BAD!" i mean would you want to eat some spoiled food that has a bunch of germs and nasty other stuff or some nice fresh food.
but in terms of being spoiled it is just as bad. if not worse. people do have power over you its them that spoiled you after all. from that they can take it away just as easy.
Being spoiled is nice while it lasts but if you do it to a kid they will grow up with the idea that they should get what they want all the time.my friends wife spoils the kids and she has a terrible problem with them cause they kick up an almighty tantrum if they dont get what they want.she always gives in tho.i think if you reward a child for something and let them know it was cause they did/achieved something then giving them what they want isnt too bad.my parents never spoiled me and i am very glad.everything i have i got myself so i know if i want something i have to get it myself which is realistic.spoiling people distorts that reality
Ooh, my friend, there was a point in time when I was VERY spoiled. People were worried that I might not make it (sounds dramatic, I know) so I got everything I wanted. This only lasted for a few months after I was released from the hospital, but the damage held on for a couple of years. I was only four. I didn't know any better. Now, a friend of mine was spoiled from EARLY childhood and is struggling in life now.

Spoiling a child every once in a while should be all right. As long as it doesn't happen very often, it can be appreciated.
The biggest problem with being spoiled is that it tends to lead to a false sense of entitlement later in life that can have bad effects and/or consequences. A parent could do no less disservice to their child than to lead them to believe the world owes them something. I think it is important to have a clear distinguishment between rewarding and spoling a child.
Yes and Yes, because if you are spoiled and the other person is the codependent they can push your buttons and get you to do anything they want.
yes i think its not good to be spoiled even as a little kid because then you wont be as independent and you will always depend on other people and spoiled people think the world owes them somthing. and it just makes life harder later on.
