What are some of the quick signs of intelligence?
What are the signs that someone is very intelligent? For example when you meet them for the first time or are chatting to them?
Answer:
They are articulate, eg. do not use loads of slang. Can answer questions without giggling and saying 'innit' . Do not wear burberry or named sports gear, and do not hang around shopping centres wearing hoodies.
It's not that hard to tell. Often it's a look or the way they carry themselves. Generally you can tell by the way they articulate, even if it's a very basic conversation. Try throwing them with a tricky question and see the response. An intelligent person may just say 'well that's not my subjest I'm afraid I don't have a clue'. An unintelligent person might just glaze over and start pulling the hairs out of the palm of their hands.
There aren't any - A smart person will always let you think they're not as smart as they are. You can tell if someone is educated pretty easily. Telling if someone is smart is harder than you think at first glance.
Although a shaved head is usually a giveaway ;0)
I think there is a difference between intelligence that is based on IQ, and social intelligence.
People who are very socially intelligent will have the ability to hold a decent conversation, intepret your feelings, and react to you in a way that you want. This may be by copying your actions, and flattering your movements. This is very appealling to many.
Those who are intelliegent, or have a high IQ, may be excellent at logic or conquering the world, but perhaps not what you expect within the boundaries of social conduct.
So I suppose the moral is... You never know
i look to see if they can follow the conversation. if they get lost, thats a bad sign. moral decisions. i dont ask them direct questions about their morals, but certain things will come up in the conversation. sometimes you can tell by their speech pattern. in some cases their education level can determine if they're intelligent, but not all the time. there are many levels of intellligence though. different people have different strengths.
the ability to keep silent and LISTEN to another human being without using the personal pronouns such as i, me, and always be YOURSELF.....
Being articulate is no measure of intelligence; using slang is not a measure of being unintelligent.
As a child it could be measured by academic achievement but as an adult it can be very difficult.
They only way to be certain is to have a deep and meaningful conversation to establish their level of intellect.
