What is the difference between loneliness and boredom?
Answer:
Loneliness is when inspite of being surrounded by so many people, you still feel that no one loves you, understands you nor even accepts you. This is different from being alone which means that there's no one there with you. That you're the only person in the room. So you can be alone but not lonely. Likewise, you can be in a crowd and still feel lonely.
Boredom is when you feel that you don't think what you're doing is interesting -- or you don't do any activity that you are passionate about. But, you feel loved and appreciated. So boredom is more about what you are doing (activity) at the moment while loneliness is what you feel (emotions) about yourself at the moment.
well when you are lonely you are in the need of company and when you are bored you are in the need of activity.
I can have lots of family, friends and someone who loves me so I am not lonely - but if I have nothing to do all day I may be bored.
boredom is temporary until you go to sleep, it can start all over again an hour after you wake up. loneliness kind of just stays there to dwell on
Loneliness - you're looking for a PERSON to be with you
Boredom - you're looking for some THING to peak your interest.
I believe loneliness is when you are either isolated are surrounded by people and you still feel alone. Bordeom is when you can't find anything to do that is worthwhile to pass the time.
Ha Great Question. But I guess the difference for me would be when I am feeling lonely it is because I am longing for a certain and not just random human companionship/affection. I want to be with someone or somepeople. When I am bored, it means I am with those people, but I am tired of being with them because it has become tideous to be with them. Sometimes, I dont feel lonely and I am all by myself. Yet sometimes I feel lonely even inthe midst of so many people. because I feel my emotional needs for affection are not being met. Yet sometimes, I dont want anyone to be around me and I dont want to be around anybody, but I am so tired of doing the thing I am doing. I guess thats when you can say I am bored, but definitely not lonely. Am I helping you? I hope so.
