It means that they are focused on the subject of getting laid or on the subject of not wanting to get laid or the subject of wanting to get laid, etc. which all can lead to the same result.

Because sex (or at least the afterglow) is a great way to relax, not mention sex has been proven to be good for your health.
Normally when someone says "You need to get laid" they are saying "Relax, stop being so damn uptight."
I believe it is diffidently a relaxer yet rejuvenates you. I don't know if you are a virgin but if not after you have sex don't you just feel better? I DO!!
People believe sex is the ultimate relaxation... but I am with. it doesn't make any problems go away, in fact it can multiply problems.I personally think it is just a juvenile response to shrugging off a friends problems/stress as a joke..

Having sex is often used & considered as a fabulous way to release pent up frustrations, stress, etc... but the "you just need to get laid" saying has more of a funny sarcastic connotation than anything. In other words don't take is so seriously.
