How do you control crying?
I feel like I cry about little things. Like, someone can make a small joke at me and my feelings might be a bit hurt or a bit embarrassed,, and I cry. I think "its no big deal.' but it never works. What can I do on the spot?
Answer:
If you are in front of others, drink a glass of water when you are about to cry. Another option is to look up and to the left (left is the logical side of your brain). The right side is the emotional side. When you look out of the left corners of your eyes, you are activating the logical side of your brain.
Stop it as you can, find something that interest you and brings the smile to your face.
here is a great quote to keep in mind:
when things get too overwhelming, just remember that you're gonna die some day so it all this wont matter at all.
You must be very emotional.
The way I stopped crying was that I would just tell myself (when I wasn't upset) that I wasn't a crier. I used to freak out and cry whenever anything upset or frustrated me, now I just remember how stupid it looks and how ridiculous it is and I don't do it anymore.
There's nothing wrong with being a sensitive person, but crying can carry a big social stigma. Let it out during a good movie and try to realize that whatever you're upset about isn't worth crying over.
Take a deep breath and calm down before you start to tear up. Reply to the person who hurt your feelings with another joke or be sarcastically rude back to him/her. Tell the person that you don't find the joke funny and hopefully next time it won't be said.
Kinda like public speaking...
Picture everyone around you in the 'buff'
Three deep breaths
Look up and to your left, as previously mentioned.
P.S.
middle row, far right, first row - first and middle.. ;)
