In countless ways, amongst them:
never changed my surname when I married
married late
lived together "out of wedlock"
didn't divorce my husband after separating but had a baby with another man
insisted on finding things out for myself instead of accepting what others said without question
rejected my parents' religion
explored my sexuality which was completely taboo when I was growing up
rejected the anti-intellectualism and conformism of my society
explored my own spirituality which was totally heretical in my parents' religion
Of course,I grew up in the rebellious 60's. T4
