I have an IQ of 160. But, I don't feel that smart or intelligent. Maybe I lack self-confidence. Help?
Answer:
It totally depends on who he is, but I would keep it to myself. if you do something smart, it may intimidate him, if you do something dumb, he might not let you live it down. just leave it alone.
As for not feeling smart, IQ means you have the ability to learn easily. If you are not "interested" in learning and don't spend time reading or learning new things, you are just like any normal person. Maybe you haven't found an area of study that interests you?
160 is very high. Maybe take another (different one) and make sure it wasn't luck?
Maybe you're booksmart but you lack common sense. That might why you don't feel smart. If your husband leaves you because of your far superior intelligence then you should enjoy single life.
If your husband leaves you or dislikes you because of a higher IQ score...then he is not much of a husband and not worth your time.
You will not get A's all the time...it just means you have a better capacity to learn...you can retain knowledge and you are able to learn..It does not mean you will know all about chemistry unless you have been studying it..IQ is just saying you are smart and able to learn a a high level.
IQ only means you have the ability to reason and elevated ability to think certain ways. It in no way means that you know a lot. Who asks a question like this anyhow? Where did you get this IQ test. You should probably not throw it in people's faces or they will loathe you and just may prove how little a high IQ really can mean.
He should be proud of you. If that is accurate, you are a genious. We could use you in a thinktank somewhere to solve our country's problems. LOL
your "IQ" is just a number it singifies nothing specific. ppl with lower iqs can do great things and ppl with higher iqs can not always be smart. what matters is how hard you try if you slack off anyone will do bad but anyone that studys will do better trhen the one that didnt. i doubt that any1 would get mad know your iq is higher unless you decide to rub it in their faces then theyll get irritated but go ahead and tell him just dont make a big deal out of it.
Just because you have a high IQ doesn't necessarily mean you have to be a straight A student or that you have to feel smart. Most test result will tell you what you're good at and what you're not. Also you can't rely on one type of test, there are several different kinds. I have an IQ of roughly 157 and decided to challenge myself and took the MENSA admittance test about
two years ago and been a member since. It's not just snooty,
stuck up smart people it's a little bit of every walk of life. You should give t a shot. There is a pre test here http://www.mensa.org/ this will tell you if you should the admittance test. As for you husband, He should be proud that he has a smart wife.
I have an IQ of 168 and I know that an IQ is not how smart you are it's the ability to learn new things. IQ's no longer are used by schools because it gives people the wrong impression. A person with an average IQ of 117 could get all A's in school easier than someone of genius caliber. The ability to learn is better but it more depends on what you are interested in. People with higher IQ's usually stick out like a sore thumb. We usually always have an answer even to questions we don't know. We are able to find answers through deduction. It's always good to have a high IQ but if you do I tell you not to share it with other people. Other people don't understand what it means. Keep it to yourself and show people your intelligence by your actions that way you don't have to put people down by an insignificant number. Accept your IQ and learn to improve your mind. learn how to program your mind to do what ever you want to do.

It's only a number on a test. Keep it to yourself, quietly seek more of your kind. The mob hates and fears the Severely Gifted. Intelligence is the only human attribute that cannot be stolen, cheated, bribed, purchased, cheated, surgically implanted, or pharmaceutically induced. (Armodafinil is increasingly interesting.)
So, whatcha gonna do with it? What interests you? In what are you prodigious? You've got a computer, look around. Be your own cause.

no yo shouldn't tell him. he will be jealous. I'm jealous! all you geniuses are talking about us, the pathetic average people who get straight As in college. shucks.
Your intelligence may be directed to your specialized interests. Being smart is not the same as being socially competent, or comfortable. Perhaps you could help yourself by directing your interest and intelligence into rewarding social relationships. There are books and articles about how to do that. It involves sharing your feelings with others. I think if you have or develop a good relationship with your husband and share your feelings, then he will not hate you because you have a high IQ. That is not enough reason to hate anyone. Obviously you are not like some smart people who don't want to associate with average people, you are a person to whom people like your husband are important. Let him be proud of you, brag on you for your brains. If you have a cozy relationship with him it will not threaten him.
Ok --- first and foremost --- is this IQ on a standardised IQ test like the Wechsler scales or the Stanford-Binet or the DAS? Because if not, don't worry about it--- it's not right! Online tests can either over-rate or under-rate your IQ and I wouldn't base anything about my life on those. They do not measure all areas of intellectual ability and are not normed to compare a person's score with others of the same age.
Now, if it is on a standardised test, you should know that there are individuals with high ability who do underachieve and this is usually when they find what they are learning boring or not challenging enough or even if they think it's weird that they are doing well and 'dumb down' in order to be comparable to others kids in the class.
As far as your husband's opinion is concerned --- well, if he loves you, he'd be proud of you and happy for you!
Good luck...
Once again, keep in mind not to base important decisions on the online tests...
Hope this helps!
what should i say! 74IQ here!
