What have you done in your life so far that makes you think you are a hero?

Struggling against many, many odds and still going strong.
I speak up when it comes to mental illness. I am on a mission to ruin the stigma.
You watched the show Heroes tonight, didn't you?
Well, I stopped someone from committing suicide but that didn't make me feel like a hero.
I also took the wheel of a car when my friend had a heart attack on the highway but I was saving my own life too so I don't count that either. It did feel good that his son still had a father after that.

No. I am not hero, just a person. Anyone who thinks of themself as a hero is full of themself and usually wrong. A hero is not someone who thinks himself a hero, but someone who others think is a hero.
I agree with the first answer. Heros are declared. I have saved 3 lives, one being a very small child, a 6 year old girl and my 1st wife. All 3 were drowning victims. I feel good about being there and knowing what to do but I don't feel like a hero. Just blessed to be able to help.
Others may see me as a hero...but no i do not see myself as one. I have never seen anything I have done to be heroic.
