Photographic memory: born with it or can be acquired?
Answer:
Everyone can improve their memory to some extent. The degree to which an individual can improve is limited by their innate abilities. As with most things, a good memory is partly inherited and partly learned.
A true "photographic" or "eidetic" memory is so rare that some believe no such thing exists. However, there are many examples of what I would consider to be a photographic memory. The last one I read about was a boy named Bob Underwood, from Florida. He proved he had a photographic memory by reciting a Harry Potter book he'd read word for word, from memory, in front of a crowd of people. That's good enough for me!
I think we are born with it. Because if it could be aquired, there would be thousands of us wanting that class.
Not sure.
I was born with a pornographic memory.
it sucks. it is not a gift---it is a curse. Because---there is some sh1t that cannot be forgotten. Have you ever had an image in your mind that you could not avoid? a person with a photographic memory deals with this stuff EVERY DAY. born, raised whatever, to answer your question, it (photographic memory) cannot be learned---in my opinion---I could be wrong...but let me tell you, it is no fun at all. AT ALL.
You don't even want to know about the kind of stuff i am trying to forget. And---I wasn't the bad guy. I was just there.
Of course it can be learned.
You can improve your memory but a photographic memory is a gift you are born with.
I think you are born with it. If you excersize it, it can improve to a certain extent.
I think the tapes are likely unneccessary and may be a little scamish.
