Does anybody ever check out friendsreunited.co.uk and it makes them feel like a loser?
I am 29, never had a girlfriend, I work in a low-paid dull warehouse job, and still live with my parents.
Everyone else seems to be in a far better position than myself. What do I do?
Answer:
I only went on that site twice, both times I came across names that I would rather forget, the bullies mainly. They all wrote how well they were doing, one of them said she was a TV producer at the BBC and lived in Chelsea Harbour, etc etc, and it made me so angry. All I could remember was this loud aggressive girl who singled out the quieter ones and made their lives a misery, even the teachers went out of their way to be nicer to her because they seemed to fear her as well
A short while later I had reason to be at the BBC networking, and I asked about this particular person but no-one seemed to know anything about her, they said the BBC is quite large she could work here and we wouldn't know.
It turns out she was lying, my sister met up with her friend who knew this girl and she's not a BBC producer, she doesn't live in London, she works in an opticians on the reception desk.
Anyone can write anything, it's probably not a smart thing to do if you know people who will find out, but you really shouldn't feel like a loser.
Make your mind up to work on the changes you want, maybe think about how you can improve your work prospects, go to college get some more qualifications, or training in something you really would like to do. Once you start building up your confidence you feel better about yourself and that affects how other people will relate to you. if you walk around with your head bent towards the ground, people don't notice you and the cycle of low self esteem carries on.
Try walking with your head held high, smile at someone, see the reaction you get.
You can make small changes in your life that give you the confidence to think about making the bigger ones.
No-one on friends reunited is any better than you, but you're the only one that can make yourself believe that by looking for ways to become the person you want to be
Not everyone is in a better position to you, it just feels that way and friends reunited is a very famous website that many people use, so lots of people using it are probably in the same position as you. However you might have more luck using a dating website if thats what your actually looking for, you might have a better chance on there as everyones looking for the same thing as you. maybe you should move away and start again to sort your life out. or go back to college and get some qualifications for a better job.
