Can computer games addiction have the capability to change the behavior of an individual...??

some of the teenagers now are addicted to computer games, can this addiction change the behavior of an individual.....??...

Answer:
You mean like a person's aggression?

Although video games how violent they may be can influence violence to those who get stimulated, it can give out a different effect to others.

See people have innate aggression and with video games, that aggression can either be exhausted and would trigger passive aggression (meaning they don't elicit the aggression since they've exhausted all of it on the game)

or

They elicit it as it is something they have acquired acquired.
Yes, any teenager allowed to spend the majority of his or her life immersed in fantasy will undoubtedly show behavoiral changes.
]sure, if behavoir includes habits, they wouldnt be talking as much or moving, or causing trouble sitting down playing a game, although not too much good comes out. I dont belive that if you play a video game, alot, that it can change your personality,
YES!! My ex is 39, a single father to an 11 year old who has basically been tossed back and forth between his parents. My ex, as soon as he'd get home from work till the time he went to bed would be playing WoW. He would occasionally make his son dinner, the rest of the time he would tell his son to make himself something. He would ignore his son, ALL THE TIME.
kinda. it'll make you less social and also help w/ obesity. mountain dew+wow=badness.
hi, yes indeed it can and prob will after long bouts of exposure to playing vid games. it can affect children and adults as ive experianced this from people around me. it can become like any addiction and those with addictive behavioural tendances are much more at risk of this kind of behaviour. try and limit the time spent on such divices say a max of 2 hours but best about an hour. and always have breaks inbetween. also it can be a risk if its a child as these kind of patterns of continuous playing will interruped sleep patterns and scholling as it will hinder the concentration levels. hope tat helps. take care
Yes.

It's been proven and seems pretty clear that addiction to video games is an escapist addiction and indicates that the person doesn't want to deal with issues that are going on in their life.

I think the usual behavior changes apply, sleeping disorders, anger, short temper, depression, manic episodes, social withdraw. eating disorders and etc.

Depends on who you define addiction. I think many of us can handle a few hours a day devoted to games, TV, sports, hobbies, or etc.

What about addiction to FunQA.com. I need some treatment for that.
Yes most definately. Especially teenagers, they are very prone to infulences, especially these.
yes , it can change their behavior / life. it is not a good thing.
Pretty much! Your social behavior, your way of thinking, your environmental outlook will change eventually. You as the game player may not notice it, but sure enough, your folks at home and circle of dudes will.
You'll be irritable on errand running since this halts your game. You'll be edgy on exams. Your diastolic proportions may rise or fall. You'll take the intensity of games even in your dreams till they become nightmares. Your level of hostility might reach that point like in one case of a teen in China who killed his mum and wounded his dad because he was refused of money for computer game playing.
I'm not trying to scare you. You can still play why not, but make sure this doesn't take up all your hours and all your life.
To an extent, but it is contingent to whether they let the game do that to them.

Example:

Back in college, a guy living down the hall constantly played a RPG called Everquest. He became so addicted to the game it started interfering with everything else in his life. Soon he started missing class and eventually landed on academic probation.

As I mentioned above, a lot is dependent to whether or not they allow this happen. The best way to prevent an addiction to it is to not dedicate large amounts of time to the game constantly.

Hope this helps.
