Developmental Psychology: TEMPERAMENT ?

i got this as an assigment question:...

There are at least three things wrong with the following statement:
"Having a difficult (shy) temperament causes later behavioral problems for children, adolescents, and adults"

-What are the three things wrong with this statement??

HELPPPPP PLEASEEE

Answer:
(1) Temperament refers to behavioral dispositions in children. So technically, a child with a difficult temperament cannot have behavioral problems later.

(2) The behavioral description of a child with a difficult temperament and a child labelled as shy are inconsistent. For example, a difficult child responds very strongly to the environment while a shy child does not.

(3) A difficult temperament cannot really cause behavioral problems in and of itself. A child with a difficult temperament must interact with the environment before anyone can label, identify, and perhaps even contribute to a child's behavioral problems due to negative interactions with the child that may result from its difficult temperament.
You need to refer back to your notes or contact someone in your class. No one can know that on here, because the stuff they teach in school is false and makes no logical sense whatsoever.
