Is everyone insane?
Look around at other people, noones brain functions exactly like yours, if you consider yourself normal wouldnt they be insane?
Is everyone just fuked in the mind?
Answer:
Insanity is quite different from being brainwashed. If a persons actions were so different from the mainstream that they caused major problems world wide, wouldn't Einstein have been considered insane, or Ghandi? When you are young your mind is like a sponge, but a sponge will absorb any kind of liquid, and it will also, given time, allow that liquid to evaporate away, given that the liquid was not so caustic that it turned the sponge into a rock that was incapable of absorbing or getting rid of anything.
It is so easy to wallow in the fetid pond of definitions, but definitions are always changing. What is sane in one society, or at one specific time, may be completely crazy in another. Language and meaning: the cause, and precursor of all arguments and all war. How easy the tool is to use, and how wrong we can all be when we use it.
yes everyone is insane which also means you and i are insane
The ideas or beliefs put in our heads can not do permanent damage. We all have the intelligence and wisdom available to find the truth. We may temporarily feel brainwashed, but if you will open your mind you will be able to see things once again in a new way.
I think that psychologists would say that there is a very broad range of what is considered normal. Insane tends to mean pretty far out on the edge. But there is lots of room for individual variation (all those unique brains), within "normal."
As for being brainwashed by the media, I'm with you there. It is a struggle not to accept what others want to feed us. After all, it's a whole lot easier to just take what's given. But I don't think it results in any permanent damage. I guess I'm saying it's not brainwashing so much as complacency. Anyhow, even when people are truly "brainwashed" - indoctrinated into a cult, for example, it is usually possible to get them back.
Lemmings...
We are all unique and different. some more different than others. Einstein was considered retarded.
When we are growing up we go to the church our parents go to. If our dad is a firemen, we want to be a firemen.
If our mother is a nurse than chances are we will be to.
Then some people say, "I don't believe that way, that is not what the bible is saying" they change churches.
Most don't but some do, they begin to think for themselves.
Most just do what their parents did. But a few free thinkers take off and say, "that is to dangerous to be a fireman and I am going to drive a truck so I can see the world."
You reach a point some say about 30 when you start to think for yourself. that is why college is so difficult to figure out.
what do I want to do with the rest of my life?
So just know but others are trying to decide.
The decisions I made when I graducated from high school are not the decisions I would make today if I had it to do over.
But when I became about 27 I thought, now I know what I want to do with my life.
Now my view of the world is much different, my religious views are much different. I realize that God does play a big part in my life. I am not the same person I was 10 years ago.
What I am trying to say is yes we can get the ideas out of our head, we can change.
Yes
well no one is normal well at least the people i live with arent
Maybe God made Earth to be an insane asylum. That's why there's no other life on the other nearby worlds,so we can lament in our madness's kept away from the universe.Uh oh! It's my medicine time again.
