Men:how old were you when you really wanted to settle down in a relationship with a girl?
Answer:
24
About 14!
now...17
It's funny that I spotted this question, because I think I'm an exception. I wanted to "settle down" when I was 19.
Of course, my girlfriend at the time, who was several years older than me, was a little hesitant to trust me because she felt that I hadn't "sowed my wild oats" yet. She believed that I would leave her when I wanted to expand my life experience.
Eventually, she was right. I started a band when I was about 22 and I largely found the time for music by cutting it from our relationship time. Then...she got pregnant (by me, of course. Lucky couch?).
I tried to keep the band going, but the little man was so awesome, well, he won. :) Now he's two-and-a-half and I couldn't be happier with how things worked out.
Now, I am an exception in that I wanted to commit in the first place, but it was a rocky road to TRUELY settling down. I fought it like it meant death once I felt it was no longer my choice. So you're probably right to start going for the older guys. Let the younger girls learn the hard way like you did from these young dumba$$es.
EDIT:
There ARE better guys out there, as I'm sure you know. You just have to care about yourself enough to choose to be with those better guys. Don't settle.
I figured I'd better end on a positive note. :)
I was fifteen when I wanted to settle down and be married but the girl I was in love with eventually wanted to play the field.
i want a relationship, not just a fling. i'm still searching for that special someone. when I do meet her, I want to be married when we both graduate school.
