When your reading or learning something, what is the best way to stay focused?
Answer:
Some people are able to learn in a noisy, distracting environment. Most of us cannot.
We need to eliminate the distractions in order to focus, especially if we are attempting to understand any complex process or activity.
If I'm listening to someone, I have to be taking notes, or I'll space out. I have to be DOING SOMETHING physical. As far as reading, a lot of coffee, and I take breaks. I also read somewhere other than home - like a coffee shop. I'm not sure how sever your problem is. I'm assuming you can listen to a friend talk without losing concentration right? Is it just during lectures that you're losing concentration? That's very natural - everyone struggles with it.
It varies for different people. Generally don't do it when you're tired and keep distractions to a minimum.
