It's simply not true that no human can ever be satisfied.
The term 'addiction' is useful, that's why we use it.
What we want are ALL our needs to be met. Our needs include basic ones (by which I assume you mean physical needs), as well as other needs: for meaning, for relationship with others, for self-actualization.
These are NOT bad things, but good things.
The better question to pose is, why we so often go after false needs than true ones.
It's inaccurate to call all humans addicted lunatics.
