Am I the only one with a fear of Ambulances?

I know, it sounds rediculous, but I think I have a phobia of ambulances, If I see one on T.V. or hear the siren I feel faint, one was at our school yesterday because a student broke something and my legs went like jelly, does anyone else have this? and is there a way to overcome it?

Answer:
I'm sure many people fear ambulances. They are harbingers of bad experiences.

I suggest that you request an EMS unit to take you for a ride along during a regular training session.

Hopefully, you can see the positive aspects of emergency services as well as the anxiety about terrible outcomes.

If you can see the professionalism, caring and tenacity of the EMS workers, you may be able to focus on that positive aspect of what is, in reality, a life saving mechanism.
It's not the ambulance itself that I fear, but the thought of having to be put in the back of one some day. Ambulances are not a reasonable thing to fear- their only purpose is to save your life.
You are associating ambulances with death. Talk to a professional counselor about your fear and what exactly is worrying you.
