Psychology Majors; do you feel a sense of Competition with your fellow Psych Majors?

I experience a really strange sensation when I learn that someone is a psych major, I feel the need to one-up them in an academic or intellectual way. It's not that I don't like my fellow psych majors I just view them as people who are competing for the same thing that I want. I believe the reason I act this way is because I really wan't to get into grad school and know how hard it is because of all the Psych Majors trying to get in. Does anyone else do this or am I just crazy lol?

Answer:
makes some sense in a way

i am happy i am finishing my school online it takes a bit of that away never having to see that however everytime i take part in a discussion i feel i have to outshine and outdo them. However some of them don't even seem to try or have a clue.

I am not a competitive person however the longer i go to school the more competitive i become. I have recentaly decided to move to a small town in rural nd with only 500 people so i am assured a job with only a 4 year degree because they have such a hard time getting anyone to work there. This i hope takes that edge off. I will not feel as much of a need to compete. However i think it must have something to do with the training because the more you train the worse it gets.

So yes it seems that way and no it is not crazy. I am glad i am not the only one.
