poltergiest activity is usually attributed to a person (usually a teenager or child) that has had some kind of traumatic experience. they often times do not know that they are manifensting these activities, and in some cases, they are the target of the actiity (i.e. items in their room/house being moved and trown about, levitation of their bed while they are in it, etc)
the phenomena (sp?) are not ever so easily explained, and these are only examples.
