Give an example, in or out of work where you have had to overcome communication difficulties?

Answer:
Ordering at a McDonalds drive through. Those microphone/speakers suck.
Well, now at work, my stepmom is my boss and for keeping the peace sake, I keep my mouth shut when she F**ks up or is nasty to me or our co-workers. Which is eating at me. And believe me, she is bitchy and unreasonable. But I'm working on it... This is my Dads' business and I want to protect it and one-day run it when he decides to retire. She will just use all the money(she's a gold digger) and won't care about the business. And I'm not one of those people who decided now my parents are divorced and now I'm going to hate the step parents, no, She is really nasty and is always out to get me. I think she's got a psychological problem where she needs to fight for attention between the kids and her husband.
Filling in a job application? This is a classic interview question. The "correct" answer must:
1) Be articulate. This is about communication skills.
2) Be even-handed. Casting blame looks bad. Nor do you wnat to seem to be at fault.
3) Involve a believable conflict
4) Be resolved to the advantage of everyone involved.
5) Be resolved by agreement of all parties.
6) Be resolved by changing the mode of communication

Communication difficulties could include:
inter-departmental: "We were getting poor briefs from the ... department and it slowed our response times. A meeting was arranged and we drafted a standard proforma so that all specifications were covered and we didn't have to keep going back to ask questions."
Interpersonal: "I was line-managing somebody who repeatedly did the wrong thing, despite careful verbal instructions. We had a meeting, and we decided that she should shadow a colleague, who would show (rather than tell) her how I like things done."
All times:
figure out what you want or what you want to say in one sentence and be as direct as possible. No communication problems there
Follow up: ask, "is that clear?" or, "does that make sense?" and get them to repeat it to make sure they heard you right.

clear and direct
