How long can somebody talk about themselves before s/he gets sick of it?

It seems like we live in a 'me, me, me' society. When will people start redirectng their focus on something else other than themselves? Why are people like this?

Answer:
Some people never get sick of talking about themselves unfortunately! People are getting more and more like this because of the way our culture has become..."It's all about me, and what I want, and what I feel!"
well, alot of people are sorta self-centered because it's alot easier to talk about yourself that someone else, you are yourself, you know what you do so it's easier to talk about yourself then someone you may only see 4 hours a day. However, in todays society people do need to be open to their surrounding peers, so your right. people are too slef-centered.
I don't know. I know a lot of people with the me syndrom. I'm hoping that it will change.
let's see.I've been listening to my oldest sister for over 40 yrs,
sick of it, yes
put up with.yes.

I agree! The US has become a "me" society.
I try very hard to focus on God...it's not so easy to focus on me, my wants and my problems when I remember how Jesus gave up his life because of his undying love for me (and you)!
It seems to me that this is more of an open-ended-get-you-thinking type of question. and you have a point. I absolutely agree.

and i hope someone answers you with a true answer, because i have absolutely no idea why some people are so selfish.
I think if you've seen many celebrity interviews you will realize the answer to your question is "never".
Selfishness seems to be a part of human nature, which could explain myspace's sudden popularity. If people never thought of themselves their basic needs most likely would not be met. So I think that the natural tendency to think of oneself the most plus our society today results in the obvious lack of selflessness people express.
