what kind of paranoid? ... i am really paranoid, but i don't want to answer unless i think i can relate and give good advice.
paranoid =flying mind or mind in flight
see a specialist counselor and some short term medication

what makes people deny they are paranoid about something or everything,is the over use of the word in general,its oh you are so paranoid,and thats a end to the persons claim just because they seem to think something is occuring in a manner aimed at them,it could well be something is aimed at them for real or for a reason ,such as intimidation of one sort or another.it makes the person feel even more unsure of their own mind or of being seen as a joke as someone not worthy of being taken seriously,and should only be diagnosed in a person by a properly trained specialist.everyone is "paranoid"to a certain extent anyway.i prefer to use the word over cautious
