What is a psychological evaluation. what test are involved and what results can i expect from this.?

Depends on what it is for.
A psychological evaluation when applying for a job would be different to an evaluation if you have been arrested for a crime.
Possible tests would be things like an IQ test, the MMPI (a personality test), for a job interview they may look for leadership characteristics and such, if its for a crime they may look at using the Psychopath Checklist.
Medical history might come up, including mental health. This would include that of your immediate family.
there are several tests involved and each psychologist chooses the ones they feel are the best for their type of evaluation...there is usually an iq test done and that is about the only constant between them...you can expect it to say whatever the psychologist wants to interpret from it...the information they receive before the test guides the test and the results...usually when i send people for a psychological evaluation i give the evaluator the home and background of that person which includes information about their biological family, how they were raised, who was in their family, how the family interacted, any drug/alcohol issues, criminal background, their current situation (IE: housing, family, supports), any medical treatment and current medications and past mental health information...hope this helps
