Hi, I couldn't find any research specifically indicating the suicide rates among Doctors of psychology or psychology majors/graduates . With no research to be found the rates are either not documented or very low among Doctors of psychology or psychology graduates. However medical doctors (physicans) according to a 2005 Harvard University study indicates medical doctors (physicians) have double the risk of suicide when compared to the general public. Female doctors have a higher rate of suicide when compared to male doctors. The overall reason for high risk of suicide among all medical doctors is linked to not being able to disclose personal feelings regarding various medical practice issues with colleagues along with stress which in turn leads to alcohol use and increases the risk of suicide. Suicide rates among physicians is high and needs to be nationally addressed according to 2005 Harvard University Study.
Psychiatrists, air traffic controllers and, look it up there's a list.
