I had a dream that i kept getting killed over and over, weird? or telling me something?

I heared that dreaming of yourself dying is good.and dreaming of others dying is bad.
I have the same dream at least a few times a year where my children were small and we were running down a country paved road at night.We were being chased.I hid my children in the bushes and told them to stay there and be quiet but not enough room for me to hide.So after I hid my children,I kept running and then getting shot in the back and waking from my jerking of the shot.
I looked into it and a book of dreams said I was trying to run from guilt.And justification of the action was death.
Also,there are medications that can cause bad dreams,I found out.Also foods.You may want to log what you are eating or taking on those days and see if theres a link.
I believe you can look up the meaning of dreams on line tho I don't recall the site.
