How do you motivate yourself to do something that you don't feel like doing?
Answer:
Oh my goodness I can easily procrastinate about dozens of things and I am very lazy. I have to be in the mood to clean or do something. lol
How do I get through it? It depends on what it is. Like I HATE the dentist. I'd rather give birth than go to the dentist. But I have to for my health. So I do it. I take an MP3 player and listen to music while I am there because it helps me relax.
Now how about something that has to be done like cleaning or laundry? I think of my husband. lol I know that sounds crazy, but he can be a clean freak and me well I look past the mess as it piles up. lol But I think of how he will be happy to see that something has been done.
Good tricks to help fight being lazy and putting things off? I'd suggest maybe give yourself a reward and also don't set the goals to high. My health can go from good to bad a times so when I feel good I know I don't need to over do it. So I think of like 3 litle things I'd like to get done. Small things! I don't say, "I'm going to clean the whole livingroom today." I focus on a small area like, "I'll pick up all the trash around the room today." Once that little bit is done I try to move on to something else small like, "I'll pick up all the books."
Baby steps is the key. It is to hard sometimes to look at the whole picture so do it bit by bit.
Just start doing it - I didn't like to exercise before, but I made it a routine and now I love it when I'm done! Sometimes the motivation isn't ever going to be there, but you'll feel less stressed once it's done.
How do I motivate myself? I have something that generation dumb doesn't have... I have PERSONAL DISCIPLINE.
i just do things straight away so it's gone quicker
I just think about all the fun things that I could do AFTER I'm done!
There's no real method really, you just have to do it. If you're sitting around looking for ways to motivate yourself, instead of doing something, you're procrastinating, right?
