When someone says your name why do we look at their eyes first?

I've noticed that when one person calls another person, the first thing you look at is their eyes. Is it instinct?

Answer:
they know they have your attention(looking at their shoes or something is not really a sign that your listening)
also so they can see what they want you for from their facial expression(eyes tell a whole lot:whether its urgent, good/bad news, etc...)
eyes are the window to the soul
It probably is but maybe looking at someones eyes is a sign that you got their attention. I mean the person wouldn't know if you got his attention if you were staring at his foot right?
Yes, its instinct. From infancy the first thing we learn to look at is eyes. It helps babies learn language, because when parents are saying words that sound like gibberish to the baby, if they look where the parent is looking they will associate those words with the object that is being looked at.
if that person will be 1 foot taller than you then.?
I think it's because eyes are the most recognizable feature, like if somebody yelled, "Hey Kate!" I would turn around and look at their eyes to see if I knew who they were, for validation.
