I want to live a long healthy happy life, how can I become positive and stop thinking negatively?
Answer:
think happy thoughts and get invoved in different things
Pray to God to help change your frame of mind. Make a conscience effort to find something positive about every situation.well, at least ones where you find yourself thinking something negative. Helping others always makes me happy and feel good. Good luck!
i have that same problem. you can't help what you think but try this, every time you have a negative thought ask yourself why is it so bad? how is it good? and try to think of atleast 2 more reasons to why its good then why its bad.
Think about good things. Don't let anything, or anyone put your hopes down. Always keep your hopes up. No matter what. If you a man, be a man and act like one. If you're a lady girl, man up don't let anything put you down. A women has a chance do anything that she wants. Tighten Up!
thinking positive is a life style! Instead of seeing the glass half empty, see it half full. Instead of thinking of what you don't have be thankful of what you've got. this is a beginning, only a beginning!
Trust yourself, trust God. Try and do your best because that's all what matters, then God will do the rest. :)
As long as you're right, don't care about what people say, but you also have to listen sometimes.
Have some hope and finally...BRIGHTEN UP!
do just that. Your thoughts are who you are. People tend to think that thinking positively is living in a fantasy life while thinking negatively is being real. When you think about that, it doesn't make any sense. Good things have as much chance happening as bad things so why is thinking good things are going to happen being unreal? Here's how to think positively. Scenerio one: You lost in the finals of a match. Thinking positively you tell yourself. I am awesome. I played great enough and consistently enough to make it to the finals. I beat this person and that person and that person who are really good and high ranked players. I also played very well in the finals despite the fact that my opponent was a very good player as well. I did this well and that well in the finals. In the future i will practice on this and that to win the next one. Thinking negatively: I lost, i sucked, i did not do this and that. I am a bad player. Both true statements but one of them keeps you happy, allows you to acknowledge your strenghts and build on it (which is how successful people in life succeed) vs the other way of thinking that just tells you you are not good enough. So in summary for every event, think of everything you did well and acknowledge and complement yourself for it. Don't dwell on the mishaps or even think about it. Move on. I have done better in life since i started thinking positively because it made me realize that i did not know how awesome i really am. Very empowering way to live. NOTHING brings you down
You need to learn how to see the falseness in your negative thoughts. I've come to understand that the Universe is neutral, serene. Everything that happens around and inside you is absolutely neutral in meaning. When you start ascribing things as 'good' and 'bad' is when they start getting complicated. The following is the reason...
If the Universe - everything happening inside our imagination and sensory awareness - is inherently neutral, then anything you THINK about it will just become a reflection of your own thinking. And the mind will do its job in supporting your thinking. Imagine looking at a painting of multi-colored dots. When you think to see only the red dots, those just come shooting out at you and the rest seem to fade. That is the mind doing its job to support what YOU WANT to see.
If you want to believe that anything is negative, and it doesn't matter what that thing is, the mind will go looking for it for you and presenting it to you as evidence of its existence while at the same time diminishing the opposite - the positive - so you can see the negative more clearly. The hard thing about being negative is the belief factor. You believe that those things (which are inherently neutral in meaning) are truly negative when they are not.
The negative emotions erupt when we believe any THING out there IS negative. So whenever we come into contact with or think about that thing, we EXPERIENCE negativity. If you are tired of feeling negative, since it is painful to feel this way, then you must reeducate your mind in looking for the positive. This is why people like to say God is Good, if it were bad, it wouldn't be God. Personally, I like to say EVERYTHING that exists out there or in my mind is good and that NOTHING (no thing) is bad.
So, when you are dwelling on a negative issue, start looking for the positives, why the issue is actually beneficial to be experiencing, and I guarantee you, your mind, like a dutiful hound dog, will go looking for it for you and bring it back to your awareness.
Be aware when you clam up and refuse to look for the good. You are protecting your belief because you believe so strongly that it is RIGHT to hold onto. Be open-minded and willing to look at many sides of the issue. Also, examine how holding onto a negative belief affects you, how it is disserving you. When you believe something is negative you ACT and THINK negatively. Show that to yourself, become aware of it. It gives you logical reasons to drop the negative beliefs.
It's best to write down all your negative thoughts on paper. Then you can do this examination with that thought captured and holding still. See how it is affecting your life negatively, how the positives of the situation are hidden from you, how your desire to be right is blocking your ability to be happy, and finally, see how it feels, even momentarily, to let go of that belief and see your world without it. It's as if you think to yourself, "What if I can't see the red dots at all, what would this look like to me?" Your mind will do its job and clear those red dots (negative beliefs) for you to experience what it is like without them. And, all the time, in my own experience, I've been better off without them.
