Water Dreams and Headaches?
Sometimes I tend to sleep longer than when I should whenever I get the chance to, and when I do I feel myself going into a deep sleep but it's really scary the similar feeling I used to have when I had water dreams. When I feel myself going into a deep sleep I try my hardest not to. I can feel myself forcing to beat this deep sleep, my heart races very fast, I sometimes shake, I move my haead from side to side just to prevent going into this deep sleep and when I do wake up my head pounds like hell. Does anyone know what is happening to me? When I was younger I would have the most scariest dreams where I would be submerged in water and I could actually hear my family talking who would be in the same room but I could not move a single limb, nor could I open up my mouth or voice to say please wake me up! Since then I would know when I was about to have a water dream and I would prevent myself frm going through the same thing. I guess this is what I am still doing years later. Advice.
Answer:
You should not try to inhibit your REM sleep. You need that time for your mind to function properly.
As for the dreams themselves, you might want to try to actively seek those dreams instead of trying to avoid them. Each night before you go to sleep, think about those dreams and think about wanting them to play themselves out so that you can observe them and become acutely aware of them.
By taking this approach, you may convince yourself that those dreams are only obsessive thoughts conjured by your ego. Being aware of those dreams as they play themselves out will hopefully convince you that the dreams don't control you in any fashion. The dreams are only tiny ripples on the deepness of your consciousness. Try to relegate those dreams to the background.
