Can you MAKE yourself have a lucid dream?

i really want to have one please tell me if there is any possible way!

Answer:
I'm still working on it. It's been years and I think I finally had a breakthrough.I've read various books on the topic and they have really been no help. Go rent the movie "Waking Life". This movie taught me that we have a dream trigger. Something that you do in a dream that doesn't seem normal. I found that I can write in dream( I use the pen but everything looks like gibberish in my dream). This will be a big clue to "know" that I'm dreaming and If I can hold onto that, and realize that I'm dreaming, I'll be able to have a lucid experience. I've combined this with the method of asking myself if I'm dreaming when I write when I'm awake. The hope is to condition myself to ask the same question when I'm writing in a dream..hope that helps, good luck :)
When you go to bed tell yourself out loud that you will have a lucid dream, and remember it, your subconcious will pick up on that, I have been told its a good tool to use, try it a few nights, see if it works for you.
By telling yourself before you go to sleep at night that you will be able to do anything , make any changes that you want to in your dreams.
Because they are dreams, and you can do anything. Then, you have to believe that you can.
It helps to start by waking yourself up while you are in a dream. That was my first step. Then I proved to myself that I had control over the dream.

I hope this helps you. peace.
The main thing is to remember all your dreams. Being able to recall your dreams will help increase your chances of lucid dreaming. Also, try thinking of a dream before you fall asleep. Think of anything really; even if its ridiculous. It really all takes time.
Well, I've never done it because I'm too forgetful but I read of a technique that is supposed to work. You train to recognize a particular object or event as sighn that you are dreaming and then get your self to dream about it. For example if you decide that if you see a smirf you must be dreaming, then you keep thinking about it and repeating it to yourself, saying it, writing it, what ever you need until you hypnotize yourself to know that if you see a smirf you must be dreaming. Then as you fall asleep tell yourself that you will dream about a smirf. It might not work the first night, or the first few nights but it should wokr eventually.
I've never done this but I have had semi-lucid dreams. When I dream and I jump up in my dream and I go higher then usual then I know that I am dreaming and I decide to fly, I really just fly around for a while until I fall out of that dream. I just realized that wasn't lucid dreams it was probably astroprojection, hmm. anyway, you can try the technique and see how it works for you.
Step 1: Start meditating (relaxation of your mind/body)
If you have an active mind, you probably won't be able to reach that relaxed state where the super-conscience takes over...

Have you ever had a lucid dream? Or a dream where you had control? Ever flown in your dreams.. or seen real-life details (like streets or landmarks in your neighborhood). Been laying still in bed, almost asleep and suddenly jerk because you felt like you were going to slip? Could all be signs that you probably have more lucid dreams than you are aware... If yes, than you need to practice the "being aware" part of "dreaming."
