What is needed to consider everyone's viewpoint with an open mind and accept other's beliefs for what they are
Answer:
It may seem you've answered your own question, but I don't see that. An open mind, & acceptance aren't quite all of it. To RESPECT the right of a belief if you believe in it or not, is just a tad differerent than "accept." You'll only know if you have an "open mind" if from time to time, you gain insights, alter even slightly, your perspective. The "open mind" isn't always without nuances of judgment. You then deserve the same respect & nonjudgment.
Acceptance and Patience.
It is easier to consider everyone's viewpoint if you do not have one of your own. Once you have made up your mind, you tend to look for opinions and/or data that confirms your choice, rather than looking for opinions and/or data that is contrary to your choice. This is human nature. Even being aware of the tendency does not prevent a person from falling into the trap.
You have to drop all of your beliefs, and possible morals. Its not worth it to me.
Empathy and acceptance
A passive-aggressive nature.
Abolish fear first.
You answered your own question. What is needed IS an open mind. Without that, you can argue until you have no breath left, but if you are arguing with someone that has a closed mind, don't waste your time. A closed mind is a closed door, you've made up your mind and that is all there is to that, no one is getting in or out. I am pretty accepting about everything going on around me because the way I feel is if I don't like to be judged for what I do, feel, believe or think, why should I judge others in that manner. It's a golden rule I try like heck to live by.

Acceptance, open mind, and an understanding of where that person is coming from. To beat you to death with their idea is not a way to get the point across, sometimes you only have to listen
Marijuana helps a lot,
You've got to realize that people's viewpoints are often wrong and sometimes goofy. But they are entitled to them. Entering into a discussion from this vantage point puts you in control. It's easy to hear other beliefs but it doesn't make them correct or worthy of further thought or conversational exchange.
A larger Perspective is essential.
Respect is the key. Respecting others point of view with an open mind. Each one is entitled to his/her opinion and respecting other peoples views can create harmony than division.
