Why do we find comfort in hugging a teddy bear?
Answer:
I love hugging my teddy bears. I feel that they understand me. They can be my pillow when I am sad, My friend when I want someone to care and share. My Teddy bear is always with me and never is busy when I need him. I don't really know why I just love my Teddies!
Because they don't grop you. or fondle you in your sleep.
well mine's just cuddly and friendly. Oddly enough hugging someone elses isn't quite the same!
i think it's because people find the thought of cuddling other humans more objectionable
trying hugging a lion.
Comfort.
I think that the Teddy Bear makes you think about times when everything was still alright in your world.
it's a natural human instict to reach out for something to comfort them. when a baby is just born one of it's first instincts is to grasp...so it's only natural that later in life we still yearn for the same thing. a teddy bear just happens to be something that we can grasp and hold. we could also hold a pillow or a blanket. i would go even further to suggest that maybe we hold onto soft things and things that keep us warm for comfort would be because our mothers (the first thing that comforted us when we were little) were soft and warm. just a thought, hope it helped.
Because he won't push you off and say "I'm watchin the footy!" he doesnt mind if you put all of your bodyweight onto him, and he wont object to the tears on his fur or the really tight squeezes =] Its very comforting to have someone or something to hug when you're upset =]
I think because it takes us back to a cozy comfortable space in our lives when others looked out for us and the worst job we had was to play all day. Cozy is the key word here. Mmm
Unconditional love and affection through something that symbolizes love in its most innocent and pure form.
Its like protecting and nurturing a part of you that needs it
Because you are neurotic.
:) cos its like ur huggin a person awww
I think it is something to do with the "whiff" that you have attatched to it. It is a very comforting smell. Same as the sooky blanket you had when you were a wee tot!
Because sometimes they're the only thing you've got, it can also remind you of someone you loved
I suppose it is better than hugging a fridge.
Comfort and warmth, no questions asked, no judgements made.
