Why isn't overeating considered an eating disorder like under eating is?

Answer:
Overeating is considered an eating disorder. People overeat for reasons other than hunger - and that makes it a psychological issue. Some people believe that not eating is a control issue for anorexics - they feel as though they've succeeded if they can control what they eat. People who overeat have an opposite problem with control - they've let the urge to eat take over, and they often feel powerless to do anything about it. While someone is overeating, all of their problems are masked - as soon as they've finished eating, all the bad things come back (and even multiply).
I think it is considered an eating disorder.
It is a disorder, called "compulsive overeating".
Over eating in the form of binge eating IS considered an eating disorder. However, you die faster from under eating so things like anorexia have gained far more attention.
Because overeaters are guaranteed to have more health problems and pay more medical bills. More money for healthcare. If you had a guaranteed income, would you cut it off?
because its about saving people more beautiful than us...

everytime a model dies... and angel cries

who has time to help the chubby... they're just going to keep eating...
Both are disorder if these are due to a medical reason.
It is considered an eating disorder, it's just less recognized by the general public because people don't understand why someone can't just stop eating.
Compulsive eating is an eating disorder like anorexia or bulimia, and the older you are the more dangerous it is. Compulsive eaters who are very overweight suffer can suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure, damage to joints, and emotional problems like very low self-esteem. Because our society condemns "fat" people and admires slimness, however it seems to be acquired, anorexics and bulimics get more attention.
