Puberty and growing long question?
alright, i am 14 and all my life i have felt very mature and i am very smart.this happened because my mother was diagnosed with huntingtons disease and i had to cope with it by myself as my sister and father were busy.i had advanced in knowledge beyond my peers becuase there liveds were perfect and mine was basically crap. . i used to hang out with older kids because they tough t i was cool and i could relate to them and what they talked abuot because of my knowledge. now i am late in puberty and i feel like everyone is all the sudden advancing on me to the point where i am the immature one. what could i do to help cope with this?
Answer:
Don't dwell on physical changes. You will reach puberty when it is your time. My guess is that you are more worried about this, than others notice. Focus on your youth now, because once it is gone, you will never get it back. Maturity is not based on physical change, but the way you present yourself and act in situations. As long as you carry yourself with maturity, your peers will have a lot of respect for you, even if they don't tell you.
Also, on a side note, I know you have had a diffult childhood, coping with your mom's illness. But please know that God loves you and your family. He wants the best for you and uses life situations to help you grow closer to Him and become a stronger person. I think he has alot of great things planned for you.
A lot of kids go through puberty in high school. Girls tend to go through puberty younger then boys, which is why sometimes some girls seem larger and more mature than others. I've seen guys go through puberty later than others during high school. My voice changed in 7th grade, but it took till about 9th or 10th until I got a major growth spurt.
